Silverdale Primary School

Thanks to Claire from Silverdale Primary for sending these photos of their 'Friendship Pledge' banners looking beautiful in situ in the school assembly hall.

Knutton St Marys Primary School

The finished banners have been installed either side of the stage and screen at Knutton St Marys and look really lovely! Headteacher Janet Fletcher delivered an assembly inspired by the artwork and the themes of Friendship and Community and pupils recognised their contributions on the banners.

We be working with parents and pupils in February and March 2012, delivering an Arts and Crafts course with the theme of  'our aspirations for the future'.

Blackfriars School

The Blackfriars finished artwork looks brilliant situated in the school reception area.

The students and staff love the banner and visitors have made lots of positive comments! We will be spending some Friday afternoons in February and March 2012 working with Year 10 and 11 students for their BTEC Media and Culture project - cant wait to see what else we will be creating!

Newcastle Community High School

The staff and students are really proud their Friendship and Community banner - it really brightens up the room! We are now looking forward to working with Year 7 and 8 students exploring issues of confidence, self esteem and wellbeing to create some Mandala designs for permanent display in the school.

St Lukes Primary School Silverdale

We visited headteacher Sam Ray to discuss another creative project working with the KS2 pupils to enhance their outdoor space. This gave us the opportunity to view their completed banner in situ in the assembly/dining hall. The banner looks amazing installed against a window with the light shining through!

Autumn Update

Its been a while since our last workshop with CEDARS but over the Summer we have been assembling the banners!

The Westlands banner has been delivered and installed and looks fabulous. It was good to know that some of the staff will be continuing to use feltmaking with the pupils and for their own creative enjoyment.

The NCHS and Seabridge banners are also complete and ready for delivery and installation and the CEDARS and St Giles and St Georges work is on its way!

CEDARS

We spent two wonderful days last week working with the students and staff of CEDARS Knutton and Penkhull bases.

At the Knutton base we delivered four one hour sessions with four groups and made felt pieces adorned with individually designed symbols of friendship.

At the Penkhull base we made masking tape resist textile designs and felt pieces.

All participants had the opportunity to make friendship wristlets to take away with them.
